In this recipe, garden fresh green beans are slowly cooked with onion, tomatoes and potatoes. The mixture is perfectly spiced with our Greek Blend herbs, Lemon Pepper, and Garlic Granules. This is an easy and hearty way to enjoy green beans and it can even be a meal by itself. The Greek herbs and Lemon Pepper really bring out the great flavors of this delicious combination.
Herbs Used / GREEK BLEND, Lemon Pepper, Garlic Granules
Ingredients:
1 lb fresh green beans, trimmed & halved
2 medium onions, chopped
1/3 cup olive oil
1 medium golden (Yukon) potato, peeled and chopped
14.5 ounce can diced tomatoes (or 2 cups diced fresh tomatoes)
1/2 cup tomato sauce
1 Tbsp Greek Blend
1 tsp Lemon Pepper
1/2 tsp Garlic Granules
1 tsp salt
1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley
Directions: In a large saucepan or pot, saute the onions, green beans and potatoes in the oil for about 2 minutes. Add the tomatoes, tomato sauce, spices and salt. Bring to a simmer then turn the heat to low. Cover and cook for about 40 minutes, or until the beans and potatoes are tender. Add additional salt, if needed, and then stir to combine. Serve warm with the fresh parsley sprinkled over the beans.
